FAQs - Executive Positioning

Infographics Layout

The infographic layout is a blend of illustrations and captions that show, not tell your capabilities, creating an eye-catching and more easy to read story. It also enables you to communicate your story to different types of learners – both highly visual and detailed audiences. Executive Search Recruiters have told us that our products entice them to read through the whole document and meet the person behind the profile.

Our infographics are content-driven – meaning that each infographic is tailored to the client’s background and target audience’s needs.  We do not provide or sell pre-made graphics.

Infographics are typically created in Adobe Illustrator and are then either transferred to text in InDesign, Microsoft Word, Apple’s Pages or Google Docs so you can easily format them.

Our goal is to tell a comprehensive story in each of your executive positioning documents.  Since the infographics are inspired by the content from our interviews, we cannot create them without ensuring the verbiage is up to our standards.  The infographics and the verbiage are a yin and yang; you can’t have one without the other.

Although, we wish to create a template to help you create your executive positioning documents, there is no perfect or semi-perfect layout.  Executive Positioning documents are based on content, which is impossible to predict.

We are happy to partner with the client and executive/board search firms.  We see ourselves as team members whose goal is to meet and surpass client expectations.

Executive Profile Services

Once we agree to work together, you will send the Executive Profile Writer the position information and previous versions of your resume. The Executive Profile Writer will analyze the information and create a list of questions. You and the Executive Profile Writer will meet for 4-6 hours to delve into your career trajectory, focusing on business fundamentals and leadership experience.

The executive profile writer will sketch infographic concepts and send them to you for review. Upon your approval, the Executive Profile Writer will create the infographics and verbiage together as a first draft. The two of you will send the draft back and forth until you approve. During the process, your draft will be sent to a separate proofreader, who will check for grammatical, layout and formatting issues. The draft may be sent to your Executive Search contact for their review.

Given the delicate nature of this work, we cannot say how many rounds there will be, but we have never gone beyond 10 rounds of revisions.

We aim to provide 20-30 hours for each client.  This can be spread over a few weeks or a month depending on the client’s schedule and deadlines.

You will need to send position descriptions and prior versions of your resumes. You will also be asked to send the Executive Profile Writer the contact information of your executive search firm contact as well as others on your team. You must be fully present in all interview sessions as well as provide feedback on Executive Profile drafts within 48 hours.

You will be assigned to an Executive Profile Writer, who will manage the entire process.  A separate proofreader also reviews your documents in partnership with the Executive Profile Writer.

We’ll create the best resume possible for you and give you the tools to prepare you for a successful executive and BOD position search and presentation, but we can’t guarantee you a position. Don’t believe any service that tells you otherwise – they are selling you snake oil. Our services are the cornerstone of successful search processes, but there are too many other factors involved for us to be able to make executive/BOD position offer guarantees.

We will write the Executive Positioning Documents together and will finish when you are satisfied.  You will submit the last payment when we agree on the final product. You will receive the product no later than 24-48 hours after payment is received.

If you are not getting interviews within 6 months, we will look back and identify the problems and tweak your material to ensure you are successful.  Remember – if you don’t succeed, we don’t succeed either.

If you are applying to only similar C-Suite positions, you will only need to change your top summary.  If you are applying for other technical and functional positions, I suggest that you purchase a resume/executive profile package or the Board of Director Portfolio Package here.

Board of Director Portfolio Services

Board of Director Portfolio is a group of executive positioning documents that highlight your ability to build, grow, and scale successful businesses. These documents show your deep strategic expertise such as legal, crisis management, or succession planning. A Board of Director usually has 25+ years of experience. Board of Director Portfolio includes the following documents:

1. A Short, but detailed biography
2. A 1-2-page executive profile
3. A multi-page detailed resume

You will need to send position descriptions and prior versions of your resumes. You will be asked to send the BOD Portfolio Creator the contact information of your Board Search Firm contact as well as others on your team. You must be fully present in all interview sessions as well as provide feedback on Executive Positioning Document drafts within 48 hours.

We aim to provide 30-40 hours for each client.  This can be spread over a few weeks or a month depending on the client’s schedule and deadlines.

Once we agree to work together, you will send the BOD Portfolio Creator the position information and previous versions of your resume.  The BOD Portfolio Creator will analyze the information and create a list of questions.  You and the BOD Portfolio Creator will meet for 6-8 hours to delve into your career trajectory, focusing on business fundamentals and leadership experience to co-create a detailed resume and review infographics concepts.

After the detailed resume is completed, the BOD Portfolio Creator will create your Executive Profile in line with that service (see above).  Once that is finished, he or she will also create your Bio. The two of you will send drafts back and forth until you approve. During the process, your draft will be sent to a separate proofreader, who will check for grammatical, layout, and formatting issues. The final draft may also be sent to your BOD Search contact for their review.
